RIYADH — Multiple energy installations in the southern region of Saudi Arabia were targeted on Tuesday morning, leading to fires and the temporary suspension of some operations, the Ministry of Energy announced.
An official source from the energy ministry stated that relevant authorities responded immediately to manage the situation. Specialized field teams have commenced work to extinguish the blazes, secure the affected locations, and evaluate the physical damage. The attacks also resulted in injuries of varying severity to several citizens and residents, who are currently receiving medical attention. Officials are continuing to address the impact of the incidents to ensure the safety of both personnel and facilities, as well as to maintain operational continuity under established plans.
In a separate statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly denounced Houthi-led strikes on civilian and economic sites in Najran, Jazan, Abha, and Khamis Mushait. According to the ministry, these attacks caused injuries to 73 civilians, including women and children.
Saudi Arabia expressed its absolute rejection of the Houthis' hostile actions, which it stated threaten the peace and stability of Yemen, its population, and the broader region. The Kingdom declared its legitimate right to implement all necessary steps to safeguard its sovereignty, national assets, and the safety of its citizens and residents, adding that it remains committed to protecting its territory and resources from external threats.
