Land patrols of the Saudi Border Guard have successfully intercepted smuggling attempts in Jazan and Najran, resulting in the arrest of five individuals who violated the Border Security Law. The two separate security operations led to the confiscation of 150 kilograms of khat, 30 kilograms of hashish, and 4,488 tablets regulated under medical circulation laws.
In the Al-Aridah Sector of the Jazan region, Border Guard patrols detained three Yemeni nationals found in possession of 150 kilograms of khat. Meanwhile, in the Sharurah Sector of Najran, patrol officers arrested two other Yemeni nationals who were attempting to smuggle the 30 kilograms of hashish alongside the 4,488 restricted medical tablets. Preliminary legal steps have been finalized for all five suspects, and both the individuals and the confiscated substances have been transferred to the appropriate authorities for further action.
Saudi authorities continue to encourage the public to assist in security efforts by reporting suspicious activities. Residents in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province can place reports by dialing 911. For other areas of the Kingdom, individuals can reach the security patrols at 999, the Border Guard at 994, or the General Directorate of Narcotics Control at 995. Information can also be emailed directly to the General Directorate of Narcotics Control. Officials emphasize that all incoming reports are treated with absolute confidentiality and submitters will face no legal liability.
