Following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Humanitarian has dispatched an emergency relief flight to Nepal. This initiative aims to strengthen global relief efforts following the destructive floods that impacted the country last month.
On September 8, 2026, a Boeing 777-F charter flight operated by Emirates SkyCargo departed from Dubai World Central for Kathmandu, carrying approximately 74 metric tonnes of vital humanitarian supplies. The cargo consists of medicines, tents, shelter materials, hygiene kits, and winter supplies. These items were mobilized from the stored stocks of key international organizations, including UNICEF, the World Food Programme’s United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot, and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Chairman of Dubai Humanitarian, highlighted that the dispatch reinforces Dubai's position as a vital link in the international supply chain. He commended the long-standing collaboration with Emirates SkyCargo in responding to these urgent circumstances. This effort underscores Dubai Humanitarian's role as a global center for managing relief supplies, coordinating between agencies, and ensuring rapid last-mile delivery to affected populations.
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo, expressed pride in partnering with Dubai Humanitarian to deliver life-saving supplies quickly and efficiently. The logistical expenses of this relief operation were fully covered by the Global Humanitarian Impact Fund, which is designed to eliminate financial and logistical hurdles during humanitarian crises.
