The Sharjah Legal Forum 2026 is scheduled to commence next Thursday at Al Razi Hall, located within the College of Medicine and Health Sciences Complex in University City, Sharjah. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Judicial Council, the event is organized by the Legal Department of the Government of Sharjah in collaboration with the Sharjah Judicial Council.
With the central theme "Legislation and the Family: Integration that Preserves Values and Enhances Stability," the forum is timed to align with the UAE's "Year of the Family." This timing highlights the family's status as the fundamental unit of society and underscores the necessity of cooperative institutional initiatives to defend family rights and secure social stability.
Dr. Mansour Mohammed bin Nassar, Vice President of the Judicial Council and Head of the Legal Department of the Government of Sharjah, stated that the forum serves as a testament to Sharjah's commitment to reinforcing family cohesion. According to Dr. Bin Nassar, the gathering establishes a specialized platform to evaluate how legal frameworks, policies, and public services adapt to technological, social, and economic transitions. He noted that the forum aims to foster an integrated system that addresses and prevents domestic disputes, promotes legal literacy, protects rights, and prioritizes the best interests of children.
The event will host an array of judges, public officials, legal professionals, academics, and industry experts. Participating institutions include the Sharjah Government's Legal Department, the General Secretariat of the Cabinet, the Supreme Legislation Committee in Dubai, the Sharjah Judicial Department and Public Prosecution, Dubai Courts, the Department of Social Services, the Child Safety Foundation, the University of Sharjah, and the Sharjah Police General Command.
The scheduled sessions will cover four primary themes. These focus on the balance between stability and development in legal texts, societal values in the vision of the Ruler of Sharjah, legal alternatives for resolving family disputes via reconciliation and mediation, and digital challenges alongside the future of the family.
Running alongside the discussions, an exhibition will feature various governmental and community organizations. This exhibition is designed to present essential services, initiatives, and projects across the legal, social, judicial, and family awareness sectors while facilitating professional networking and the exchange of expertise among attendees.
