The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has issued red weather alerts for heavy rainfall across multiple locations in Saudi Arabia, with maximum temperatures projected to reach 47°C on Thursday. Moderate rain, dust storms, and heavy winds are also anticipated to impact different parts of the Kingdom.
The NCM's highest level of warning, the red alert, applies to Adham, Al-Kamil, Taif, and adjacent areas in the Makkah region, where heavy downpours are expected. Meanwhile, an orange alert has been declared for Al-Ais, Al-Mahd, Badr, and their surrounding localities in the Madinah region, indicating moderate rain. Additionally, the NCM placed Rabigh, Jeddah, Al-Khurmah, and neighboring Makkah territories under a yellow alert, signaling light rain and blowing dust.
According to the daily weather report, moderate to severe thunderstorms capable of causing flash floods, accompanied by hail and strong dust-stirring winds, are expected to affect portions of Makkah, Madinah, Al-Baha, Jazan, and Asir. There is also an ongoing possibility of rain-bearing thunderclouds and strong winds in parts of the Northern Borders, Riyadh's southern areas, Jazan, and the southern sections of the Eastern Province. During the late hours of the night and early morning, coastal zones in the eastern region may experience fog.
Temperature forecasts indicate that Madinah will be the hottest city, peaking at 47°C, followed closely by Dammam at 46°C, and Riyadh and Buraidah at 45°C. Elsewhere, temperatures are projected to reach 43°C in Makkah, Sakaka, and Arar; 42°C in Hail; 40°C in Tabuk and Najran; 38°C in Jazan; 37°C in Jeddah; 31°C in Abha; and 28°C in Al-Baha.
Specific local conditions indicate Riyadh and Buraidah will be partly cloudy with suspended dust, while Makkah, Madinah, and Jeddah will face rain, active winds, and dust storms. Dammam is expected to experience partly cloudy conditions and fog. Heavy thunderstorms, fog, and active winds are forecast for Abha, while Tabuk will remain clear to partly cloudy. Rain-bearing thunderclouds and blowing dust are expected in Hail and Najran, while Arar and Sakaka will remain partly cloudy. Jazan will experience thunderstorms, strong winds, and blowing dust.
Humidity levels are forecast to peak at 95 percent in Dammam, Abha, and Al-Baha. Relative humidity will reach 85 percent in Jazan, 75 percent in Jeddah, 70 percent in Makkah, 65 percent in Madinah, and 60 percent in Najran. Tabuk will experience 35 percent humidity, while Hail, Arar, and Sakaka will sit at 25 percent, with the lowest levels of 20 percent recorded in Riyadh and Buraidah.
