Top UAE leadership sent messages of condolence on Sunday following the death of Abdulwahid Ibrahim Sheikh Abdul Salam Barzani, the eldest brother of the Barzani family. Cables expressing heartfelt sympathy were sent by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court.
The condolences were sent individually to Massoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, to express deep condolences over the family's loss. Similar messages of support and sympathy were also dispatched by the UAE leaders to Nechirvan Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
