Ras Al Khaimah Chamber of Commerce and Industry has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation, known as TÜRKONFED, to expand commercial and investment links between Ras Al Khaimah and Türkiye.
The agreement is intended to create stronger communication channels between business communities and support cooperation involving large companies, startups and small and medium enterprises.
Mohamed Mosbbeh Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah Chamber, described the agreement as a strategic step for the emirate’s business community.
TÜRKONFED is a major independent non-governmental business network in Türkiye. According to WAM, it represents more than 31 sub-federations and over 300 associations, covering more than 100,000 companies across different sectors.
That network gives the agreement a broad potential audience. Rather than linking the chamber to a single industry group, it creates a channel to companies operating across manufacturing, services and other parts of the Turkish economy.
The agreement was signed by Al Nuaimi and TÜRKONFED President Süleyman Sönmez.
Yaser Abdullah Al Ahmed, Chief Government and Corporate Relations Officer at Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone, and Arda Batu, TÜRKONFED Secretary-General and a member of its board, attended the signing.
The practical value of the agreement will depend on the programmes that follow it. Business delegations, sector meetings, investment introductions and company-to-company partnerships would be the main mechanisms through which the framework could produce measurable results.
Ras Al Khaimah has been expanding its international business outreach as part of efforts to attract investment and support companies operating from the emirate.
Türkiye, meanwhile, has a large and diversified private sector, making chambers and business confederations useful partners for identifying companies interested in Gulf markets.
The agreement does not itself represent 100,000 new investors or companies entering Ras Al Khaimah. The figure refers to the wider company base represented through TÜRKONFED’s network.
Any investment value, number of participating companies or employment impact will therefore need to be measured through future projects rather than inferred from the size of the confederation.
For now, the deal establishes an institutional link intended to make it easier for businesses in Ras Al Khaimah and Türkiye to identify partners and explore trade and investment opportunities.
