DUBAI, 8th September, 2026 -- Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, has emphasized that tolerance acts as a cornerstone for building prosperity, maintaining investment stability, and achieving sustainable economic growth. Speaking at the opening of the fourth "Governments as Incubators for Tolerance" conference in Dubai, Sheikh Nahyan explained that while traditional infrastructure facilitates the movement of goods, tolerance is responsible for cultivating critical trust and confidence.
Organized by the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Trade and the AIM Congress, the conference takes place under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. Sheikh Nahyan noted that the UAE's model, inspired by the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, illustrates how embracing universal human values can drive social and economic progress while drawing international talent to a secure, merit-based environment.
Highlighting the direct connection between tolerance and investment, Sheikh Nahyan remarked that capital requires stability to thrive, and societies anchored in mutual respect and the rule of law offer a reliable environment for investors. He stated that despite global uncertainties, the UAE remains committed to addressing challenges through openness and determination, which strengthens confidence among residents and businesses.
The conference schedule features the signing of several cooperative agreements with international governments and organizations. Discussions are set to focus on converting social unity into economic benefit and utilizing public policy to boost trade, tourism, and talent attraction.
Guest speaker King Ogiame Atuwatse III, the 21st Olu of Warri in Nigeria, lauded the UAE's governance model, particularly its structured dedication to tolerance. He observed that communities capable of peaceful coexistence are inherently equipped to build and prosper together. The event also brought together senior officials and global experts to deliberate on economic integration, inclusive development, and the role of ethics in sustainable growth.
